Getting 'Inbox by Gmail' Without an invite (Android & ios)

It’s been almost a week since Google launched its new standalone email app called Inbox, and still not everyone is able to access it. The invite-only affair remains, well, invite-only.
But the good folks at WonderHowTo have a slight workaround that may expedite your access – but you still need somebody with access to Inbox for this to work, even if they don’t have an invite to spare.
First up, install the Android or iOS app on your device. You’ll then have to get a friend that has been granted access to log in to their Google Account on your phone. On Android, you do this under the main device settings, and hit ‘Add Account’, while on iOS they simply need to log-in via any Google app.

Then your friend must sign-in to the Inbox app with their credentials, whereby they can turn on access for your own account through ‘Manage Accounts’ in the app’s settings.
Don’t forget to remove your friend’s account from your handset, after which you will retain access to Inbox. This worked for us, though it seems that you cannot pass this on to your own friends – WonderHowTo notes that it only works when the official invitee’s account is used in the first instance.

Google Fit was unveiled to the world back in June, promising a platform to help people track their fitness goals. It’s essentially a set of APIs that lets developers dig in to rival apps and combine data for deeper insights, similar toApple Health.
Today, Google has launched a dedicated Google Fit app for Android, serving to capture all your movements throughout the day, including walking, running and cycling. It’s a little bit like Moves, which was acquired by Facebook earlier this year, and a myriad of other fitness-tracking services.
All you do is install the app on your phone, hook it up with your Google account, and Google Fit tracks everything, while serving up stats of your week-to-week and day-to-day activities. More..

Google unveils 'Inbox' App: A smarter take on Gmail. (Video)

It’s called Inbox. Years in the making, Inbox is by the same people who brought you Gmail, but it’s not Gmail: it’s a completely different type of inbox, designed to focus on what really matters.

Email started simply as a way to send digital notes around the office. But fast-forward 30 years and with just the phone in your pocket, you can use email to contact virtually anyone in the world…from your best friend to the owner of that bagel shop you discovered last week.

With this evolution comes new challenges: we get more email now than ever, important information is buried inside messages, and our most important tasks can slip through the cracks—especially when we’re working on our phones. For many of us, dealing with email has become a daily chore that distracts from what we really need to do—rather than helping us get those things done. Read on on Gmail Blog

Download Android 5.0 Lollipop Wallpapers (11)

Android 5.0 Lollipop: Wallpapers

It packs 11 new wallpapers.
The first few are abstract geometric shapes, while the rest seem to be real photographs, but of what, I could not tell you. Maybe something related to geology, but definitely not lollipops. That's reserved for the easter egg apparently. And if you were looking for that kite flying wallpaper that we saw on the Nexus 6, you're out of luck. It doesn't seem to be available in the Lollipop Developer Preview.
The resolutions are all over the place, with most wallpapers sporting a height of 2560 pixels and a width that varies between 2323 and 3808 — see how much fun I had trying to align them all in this post? One wallpaper manages to disobey the height rule, with an 1866 x 2000 resolution. Still, they should all be large and tall enough to fit on both the Nexus 6 and 9, and all modern smartphones and tablets.

Leaked: This is Android L aka Lollipop. (never seen before features)

Exclusive Preview of Android L on Samsung Galaxy S5

At Google I/O 2014, Google announced the next iteration of its Android operating system – Android L. As the operating system itself was still in early stages, we only got a sneak peak at a few of the upcoming features. Even the name, Android L, is just a placeholder for now, and Google hasn’t made the final branding public yet. However, our sources have confirmed that it will eventually be called Android Lollipop, as rumoured previously. Google hasn’t released Android Lollipop yet, but as you probably know, OEMs get early access to the source code.
Thanks to our sources, we managed to get our hands on an early Android L – LRW58J – test build for the Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F). Initially, we wanted to make the firmware available for every Samsung fanatic out there. However, after testing it for two days, we decided that it was not suitable for every day use, as it contains a plethora of bugs and is slow as a turtle, so we won’t be publishing the build online. But, today, we will be giving you folks an exclusive preview of the new look and features of the TouchWiz-fied Android L. Even though the build itself is in very early stages, considering Samsung has just started testing it for the Galaxy S5, you will at least be able to get an idea on how Samsung is implementing TouchWiz into Android L, considering a lot of things need to undergo major revamps due to new design guidelines from Google. Google working on a 'Nexus Watch'?

Is it time for a Google Nexus Watch?

And why not? If speculations are to be believed, Google may not have got started with its real plan with Android Wear. Recently, Amid, all the rumors surrounding the the launch of 'Apple iWatch aka Apple Watch" Google might have planned to be faster and strategically placed in this upcoming market. This is why you already see Android wear watches in the market. Many believe that these are not final versions but a half-cooked products. There is a lot more to come.

Originality & Google has a long history. For long, Though being one of the most Innovative companies, Google has been accused of stealing from Apple's IOS, On which Mr.Jobs quoted on a full fledged war with Google. This time Google wanted its wearable products to be placed as forerunners in the market. GOOGLE GLASS, GOOGLE ANDROID WEAR, enjoy, market leadership. Not only that, they have also got a lot of patents for new technologies like self driving car etc.

Google Patents Google Glass
Google Glass

In the year 2012, Google secretly acquired WIMM (An android Smart watch maker, One of the earliest and coolest.) Google's launched Android Wear, to make sure that fragmentation doesn't occur. Google still has full capability to create its own watch. If not, it can tie up with Motorola, Lg, Samsung, endless Android Hardware Partners to create Nexus Watches.

Google's watch might set the scope of usability & fast upgrades to Android Watch devices. It should not take a lot of time for us to know. The release of Android L is due anytime now, We would see a massive overhaul in the design. Google would add material design strategy to Android Wear Devices too. We hope to see a reference product soon. Till then drool on! :)

Microsoft's next OS 'Windows 10'

Here comes Windows 10

Instead of announcing the next version of its iconic operating system in front of a massive crowd of thousands, Microsoft chose an intimate venue with 50 or so reporters to launch the new Windows, which it's calling Windows 10. The company looks at the new number (yes, it skipped a number) as an indication of the direction it's taking with the OS; Microsoft says it'll be "the most comprehensive platform ever," featuring a full range of products that'll be placed under the Windows 10 umbrella as part of "one tailored experience." Microsoft's Joe Belfiore showed off an early beta version of the new Windows on stage, which looks very much like the leaked screenshots we saw not too long ago; Belfiore says that they wanted to bring the familiarity of Windows 7 and combine it with the functionality of Windows 8.

This is the Google Motorola Nexus 6

If you've been keeping up with any tech blogs over the past couple of weeks, you know that the next Nexus phone has been a hot topic. We saw rumored specs and rumored hardware photos that only added to the confusion created back when we first reported on a possible 5.9" Nexus. Today, however, we have something special to share. We've been provided with new information about the next Nexus phone, and can confirm that it will be a 5.9" device called the Nexus 6.
Based on the information we've seen, I've put together this image that depicts - as faithfully as possible - what the Nexus 6 will look like. As many expected, it's essentially a larger variation of the Moto X, matching the images we saw last week. The Nexus 6 does, however, have black front-facing stereo speakers (look closely), and the power button and volume rocker (as originally reported by 9to5Google) are a bit farther down on the side of the device, to account for the enormous screen.
